I haven't watched the podcast but had a look at the transcript and its quite informative if you want to know more about what makes Blizzard tick.

Ahh the Good ol' Days

I remember back in 2007 when Blizzard unveiled their upcoming titles how I rushed to their site to see what I heard would be the first Starcraft 2 trailer ever released. I read the news on a popular gaming website and man, that link I clicked wasn’t loading fast enough. I knew I was in for a visual treat, because Blizzard always had its way with breathtaking cinematics…and I was pretty sure they wouldn’t make an exception for the Starcraft 2 trailer either.

Last year, when Blizzard announced (or should I say admitted) that they’re working on a new, huge project, many fans of the company’s franchises were hoping for a Starcraft 2 MMO to come out. A sort of World of Starcraft, which Blizzard had already wrapped up nicely in an April Fool’s joke a couple of years ago.

Strategy First

When Starcraft 2 was announced to be a strategy game, I admit, I was slightly disappointed, since I was hoping to quest around Aiur with a melee Protoss Zealot (the equivalent of a tank in World of Warcraft maybe?) or a long range Zerg Hydralisk (hunter powa!). Don’t get me wrong, I’m very anxious at the thought of playing a Starcraft strategy game once more, but the thought of being “down there” with the troops in an MMO was fascinating.

Already crazy about Starcraft 2?

Well nothing says “I love zergs” more than a Starcraft 2 wallpaper of an acid spitting hydralisk on your desktop. Unfortunately, Blizzard only released 4 official Starcraft 2 wallpapers so far in different screen resolutions, so it’s really a tight choice. Besides, of the four, one is a huge logo that’s largely uninteresting, 2 picture Terran marines (those are pretty cool) and one has Zeratul in it (personally I don’t like that wallpaper much). If you’re a zerg or protoss fan you’ll want to start looking somewhere else.

The Blizzard Worldwide Invitational has arrived!

If you are unsure of what I am talking about, its one of the major gaming events of this year. The Elite Gamers of the World are being invited to the Porte de Versailles Exposition Center in Paris, France to witness the latest news from Blizzard and showcase their own Gaming Prowess.

Why you should be excited?

Maybe... Just maybe Blizzard may give us some more information on whats going on with Starcraft 2! And perhaps they will finally reveal what their mysterious secret project is. Diablo 3 anyone?
