I think it is safe to say that frustration is setting in and it may have a negative effect on sales! I personaly like starcraft but am contemplating not buying it any more.....Blizzard sucks...

While Blizzard does do April Fools jokes, they wouldn't spend this much time making a game and not finish it. They already have a lot of information, hard work, money, and time spent into the project. Their website seems to always be hiring, and they aren't going to just throw what they have into a garbage can. Yes, Blizzard as a huge company is making many games at the same time, that doesn't slow down their speed though, because you can only have so many people working on each game. They definately have enough people to make strong teams for each game.
Will it be out by New Years? Even though the stores have a shiping date, it isn't certain. Seems like every great game is delayed now-a-days (Halos, SSBB, etc).
My prediction? I think they will actually have it done on time for this one. Why? Because of the amount of information they have posted on their website. In the videos you can tell they have more done than just what is posted, and of course they don't update it every second. The only race seemingly untouched is Zerg, but I'd bet money that they have a decent Zerg demo running with a lot more units and buildings then they have posted.
This game isn't that much of a revolution either, it is just another RTS, and one based on a previous model. They already know how to set-up the online capabilities and the map editor and the game structure, triggers, sounds, objects, etc, etc... The two hardest things to do will be the campaign mode and balancing. Balancing will be also achieved after the games release with patches as always.
Blizzard has come a long way up to now. I am sure they do the best they can, and when they realize the game, it will take our breath away. I also can’t wait but be patient, by the end of this year we will have final news. By early next year we can start asking the shops when the game will come out.

To be honest, although I had no nails left, I still enjoy the interviews, downloading clips and videos, show it to friends and hear what they got to say, reading all the comments on the Internet. I think by the time when Star Craft 2 will be released, I would miss all the anticipation. Lets face it, this is a game with no comparison.

Dudes I'm in my thirties now I started with starcraft when I was in my early twenties It followed me while i did my first Bsc Computer Science degree and my second IS Bcom degree, it kept me worm in my study marathons and it kept me from being to lonely when I got dumped by all my ex's Starcraft kept me sane I showed this to the younger gen and guess what they dig it too. I cannot wait for starcraft 2 I will teach it to my kid and he will play it with his if 2012 does not kill us all... :-)

Clearly this game is not any closer to getting released. Website has no (significant) updates for 5 months and their priority is Diablo III. So I'd say 2010 or later. DEFINITELY not this year or early 2009.
